Javier Mascherano: I Would Hate to Be Lionel Messi, Given Criticism He Receives
Javier Mascherano says that despite the success profile and his teammate, Lionel Messi Argentina Barcelona and enjoys, he hates to be him, considering the criticism that has to suffer.
Spanish sports daily cites an interview with Argentine TyCSports, as the team still face questions about their failure to win major trophies.
Messi has not always been able to replicate the form he has shown for Barcelona at the international level, and Argentina was runner-up in the World Cup and the Copa America in the last two seasons.
Mascherano said:
Messi is not hidden and never far from criticism. I like to be Messi. It is something very special. Keeps coming (to the national team), even when it is about to become a father. We are football players who want to offer as much as you can. We are honest and try to do it the best way.
Would you rather be a Mascherano or Messi?
