Apple could double the cost of the next Apple TV
The new products include a number of new features, says report.

According to 9to5Mac, the fourth generation of Apple TV could be priced as high as $ 149 or $ 199, almost double the current selling price of $ 69 for a third generation device. Apple TV was originally priced at $ 99 after its launch in 2012, and the price dropped in March. 9to5Mac reports that Apple plans to continue selling the product as a third-generation entry-level model with the powerful new Apple TV.
Much has been leaked about the new Apple TV, but the device will not be officially revealed until an Apple event on September 9, according to the report. There are indications that the new product could include a number of new features, including support for Siri, a new remote control, an application store, and a software development kit and a fresh interface.
Apple AAPL -0.47% also have been working on a "skinny package", where users could pay a fixed monthly fee to access a range of must-have programming.
